Got Listening? Most Of Us Don’t.

Birds sitting on a branch with a Mary Oliver quote

Greetings Friends,

Do you long for better listening in your life?

Listening where you feel heard and met?

A space of presence where you are gently invited to discover more about yourself and your life?

An environment where fresh perspectives and shifts can emerge?

If you have had the good fortune of receiving this kind of listening, you know how deeply enriching it can be. If you haven’t, you are not alone. Its absence is palpable in our culture.

The good news is that we can be the change! Yep, starting with ourselves. You can participate in creating and nurturing an inner world that assists you and others in their embodied awakening.

The mind/body awareness practice of Focusing teaches us how to listen well. It does so on many levels. It teaches us how to listen to ourselves, developing an inner relationship where we extend compassionate presence to anything and everything in our experience. It also teaches us how to listen to others who are Focusing, being present, following their process and gently providing support for their inner relationship. All of this translates to our relationships and ways of being in the world.

As we integrate Focusing into our every day lives, it guides us to communicate in ways that increase the likelihood of meaningful and enlivened relationships and engagement with the world. To circle back to the above quote by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, in this fresh engagement with ourselves and the world, we are continually awakening and giving birth to ourselves.

You can learn Focusing through group work or individual sessions. It is experiential by nature, reading will only get you so far.

I send you New Year Blessings for nourishment and transformation. I look forward to the opportunity to connect with you.

All My Best,

Cathy
